Faiths United to Prevent Gun Violence (FUPGV) is a diverse coalition of faith traditions and faith-based organizations united by the call of their faiths to confront America’s gun violence epidemic and to advocate for policies that reduce death and injury from gunfire.
Formed in 2011, the coalition has supported and advocated for a common-sense agenda and has called on Congress to:
- Require every gun buyer to pass a criminal background check
- Get military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines off our streets
- Make gun trafficking a federal crime
In recent years, Faiths United to Prevent Gun Violence has continued to gather and collaborate on join efforts such as the forthcoming “Extreme Risk Protection Orders: A Guide for Clergy.”
Faith Leaders for Ending Gun Violence is a leading member of Faiths United to Prevent Gun Violence.
